The First Insult And The Unfortunate First Impression
MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA
This is not me trying to overflog a settled issue, I rather want to pen my two-cents of disgust for the sake of history. You see, I had argued in an earlier piece that Soludo’s ongoing success story is a major vindication that the intelligentsia is capable of not just surviving the murky waters of politics, but also doing so successfully and with valour.
I also noted that the business class could do same and this has brought us to the synthesis that it is the character and personality of the leader that makes all the difference. There could be other variables including exposure and fair education. However, the very foundations of leadership success is rooted in the quality of the leader’s character. This is what shapes his outlook to Society and his perception by those he is leading.
For a Man to lack the presence of mind to understand what is reprehensible from what is not, is a red flag that justifiably supports any outburst that greets him. I sincerely pity the embattled candidate of the APC, Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu. His, is a poor understanding of his God-given assignment. First, I am shocked to see that a supposed leader in a modern Anambra Society falsely wants to be represented as a “godfather”. Well, life is about choices.
Then, that he is coming to seek leadership on an empty rhetoric of “connecting Anambra to the centre” is another clear indication that Ndi Anambra, in the build up to the 2025 governorship campaigns, are up for a long spectrum of insults from the Evangelist who himself is in need of salvation on all fronts.
This clearly shows that beyond whatever material possessions Evangelist Nicholas may have, he is a man of immense depravity. A personality with a character Ndi Anambra have upended into the disturbing of regrettable history. For all this and more I think the Osumenyi-born business man should seek true salvation in this very evening of his life.
