A 26-year old man, David Ayo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly sneaking into a female lodge to seduce a staff of H & H Restaurant for sex but it backfired.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 1st May, 2025, at the female lodge of the restaurant located at Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Police did not state how the suspect gained entrance into the lodge despite the security put in place by the management.
According to the Police, the suspect entered the place and started touching the private part of the victim. He was said to have been forcing himself to penetrate her while she was sleeping. She then woke up and resisted him.
The victim raised alarm which attracted the security men on duty and the suspect was apprehended and handed over to the Police at the MAN Center Division for interrogation.
During interrogation, the suspect denied being a criminal and informed the Police that he went there to obtain sex from the victim but it backfired.
The Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, David Ayo on 1st day of May 2025, at about 0348hrs at H&H  Restaurant located at Oba-Akran Avenue Ikeja in the Magisterial District, did enter into a female lodge with intent to commit felony and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 308 and punishable under Section 308 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, David Ayo on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did Sexually Assault one Lilian Shodiya ‘f’ by touching her vagina while sleeping without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 263 and punishable under Section 263 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, David Ayo on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did attempt to rape the victim while she was sleeping and thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 262 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
