Cult Hitman, 30, Docked For Shooting Target At Yaba College Of Technology

A 30-year old suspected Aiye Confraternity hitman, Faruq Adeaga, has been arrested and charged before in Lagos State for allegedly shooting a 30-year old victim, Gomez Solomon Patrick and inflicting permanent injury on him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 23rd day of March, 2025, at about 2130hrs at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect and others now at large, who are members of the cult group, attacked and shot the victim with a locally made pistol before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he eventually survived.
The matter was reported to the Police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect while other accomplices are still at large.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, FARUQ ADEAGA ‘M’ and others now at large, on the 23rd day of March, 2025 at about 2130hrs at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: belonging to and managing unlawful society and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, FARUQ ADEAGA ‘M’ and others now at large, on the 23° day of March, 2025 at about 2130hrs at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did attempt to murder one Gomez Solomon Patrick ‘M’ Age 30Yrs, by shooting him on his back and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 230 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, FARUQ ADEAGA ‘M’ and others now at large, on the 23rd day of March, 2025 at about 2130hrs at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did cause permanent injury on the back and leg of one Gomez Solomon Patrick ‘M’ aged 30Yrs by shooting him with a locally made gun and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 246 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, FARUQ ADEAGA ‘M’ and others now at large, on or before March 2025 at Yaha, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did willfully belong to an unlawful society known as “AIYE CONFRONTERNITY” and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 42 (A) and (B) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT V;”That you, FARUQ ADEAGA ‘M’ and others now at large, on the 23rd day of March, 2025 at about 2130hrs at Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos in the Lagos State Magisterial District, did knowingly buy or received arms in your possession, cannot give a satisfactory account of one locally made single barrel pistol used in your unlawful operations and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 330 (D) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Olatunde Kehinde, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Chief Magistrates, Mrs. F.M.Kayode-Alamu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
