Lady, 37, Docked For Publishing Damaging Reports On Social Media

A 37-year old lady, Aririahu Clare, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly publishing damaging reports against a man, Osideko Adeola Damilola, to cause fear and alarm to members of the public on the social media over a squabble. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 13th March, 2025, when the suspect, Clare, published the report against the victim over an undisclosed matter.
The cause of the feud between the duo was not disclosed by the Police, who Investigated to know what led to the publication of the offensive report against the complainant.
According to the Police,  the suspect had a disagreement with the complainant and she published false statements, which instilled fear and false alarm against the complainant.
The matter was reported to the Police at Force Criminal Investigations Dept, FCID Annex in Alagbon, Lagos. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charge read:
“That you, Aririahu Clare ‘F’ on the 13th day of March, 2025, in Lagos, within the Lagos Magisterial District, did publish false news against one Osideko Adeola Damilola with intent to cause fear and alarm to the public and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 39 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, S.O. Ayodele, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the prosecution to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F.M.Kayode-Alamu, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
