FRANCIS ACHI/ Casablanca, Morocco

As the Super Eagles of Nigeria trade tackles with Atlas Lions of Morocco in the final of 2018 CHAN tournament in Casablanca, Morocco on Sunday, Gabriel Okechukwu , one of the bright spots in the attack of the Super Eagles has said that the Moroccans are breakable in the defence .
The Moroccan side has been very decent at the defence conceding just two goals, same as Nigeria leading to the final , but scored 12 goals so far in the tournament. Yet, Okechukwu opined that the strong defensive record of the Atlas Lions of Morocco will count for nothing in today’s final, as he insisted that the Eagles parades a very potent attacking force that can break the defence of Morocco.
” We know that playing Morocco in final will not be easy. The team is good, but their defence is breakable . We have the attackers in our team that can crumble them at their defence . All we have to do is ensure that we defend well and work for one another on the field against Morocco,” Gabriel Okechukwu said.
The striker, who is now the rave of the moment in the Moroccan sporting media, with some news linking him to top clubs in Morocco such as Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca said that he is not distracted with such news, as he remain focused on the task of winning the trophy for Nigeria and any transfer news about him should be handled by his football manager.
” All the news linking me to some clubs in Morocco are just distractions and I cannot be distracted in whatever way . I am focused on the target we set for ourselves in the Eagles , which is to win the trophy and anything about my transfer is being handled by my manager, Makanjuola Nureni popularly referred to as M.K, ” he said.
Okechukwu has scored two decisive goals in this tournament against Angola and Sudan to propel the team to the final.
