A cleric, Prophet Israel Ololade Omiwole, of Christ Apostolic Church and Evangelical Ministry, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 34-year old married woman in sex in a hotel and infesting her with HIV/AIDS.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Prophet, Omiwole, has been arrested and charged for statutory rape under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The incident happened in 2020 at Ayobo area of Lagos, when the woman went to  Prophet Omiwole’s church to worship. In the process, he allegedly confused her with prophecy and took her to a hotel at Foursquare Camp at Isheri, where he had sex with her.
However, five years after their encounter, the woman started having health challenges. She conducted HIV test, it was positive and she knew that It was Prophet Omiwolen that infested her with the virus.
Following the discovery of HIV infection,  the woman wrote a petition to the Commissioner of Police against Prophet Omiwole and he was subsequently arrested by the Police operatives from the Gender Unit and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
In the affidavit before the Court, the Police alleged that the matter was reported on 25/6/2025 through a petition addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command dated 25th May. 2025..
“The petition was originated by the victim, who resides in Ashipa-Ayobo, Lagos State, against one Prophet Israel Ololade Omiwole ‘m’ of Christ Apostolic Church and Evangelical Ministry, Ayobo Lagos State.”
“The complainant alleged that sometime in 2020, when she went to worship in Prophet Israel Ololade Omiwole’s Church, he took her to the hotel at Foursquare Camp at Isheri, where he had sex with her and subsequently infected her with HIV/AIDS.”
“That I am of the opinion that the aforesaid suspect be remanded in prison for a case of conduct likely to cause breach of peace and rape, under Sections 168(d) and 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigena 2015, while the case file be duplicated and sent to the DPP for legal advice.”
The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
