The Police Authority at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, under the leadership of AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, has noted the conduct displayed by officers during an arrest depicted in a viral video and has directed the Lagos Commissioner of Police to investigate the matter.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Zone’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ayuba Umma, at the weekend.
She noted that the arrest in question was initiated following a petition filed against Ms. Mercy Attababa and others by Mr. Emeka Okoye, who alleged them of assault and threat to his life.
She stated: “The petitioner asserted that a group of armed individuals, suspected to be cult members, invaded his residence on 13th and 14th July, 2025, issuing threats against him and his family, which compelled him to relocate for their safety”.
“Following an inquiry and the collection of her statement, Ms. Mercy Attababa was released to the Lagos State University Student Union Government Welfare Director.”
“The AIG has directed that the case be transferred to the Lagos Commissioner of Police for comprehensive investigation and subsequent reporting.”
“The officers involved in the incident have been identified, and appropriate actions will be taken against them.”
The Command assured members of the public that justice will be transparently served.
