ONC Announces Prestigious Award Nomination For High Chief Dike Hopeson Dike

The Apex Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, ONC, which the foremost body representing the Orashi region of Rivers State, has officially announced the nomination of High Chief Dike Hopeson Dike for its Prestigious Award of Excellence, 2025.

In a letter addressed to the respected community leader and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Obagi Oil Fields Host Community Development Trust, the ONC expressed its unanimous decision to confer the honour following its 433rd general meeting held in Omoku Town on June 7, 2025.

The nomination recognizes High Chief Dike’s commendable service in steering the Trust in accordance with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), contributing to development, accountability, and inclusion in host communities.

“The decision to bestow this honour on you was taken after due consultation and deliberation by the leadership of the Congress,” the letter, signed by ONC President General Amb. Emeni Ibe, AP, JP and Secretary General Pastor Isaac Nachikwu, stated. “This is in appreciation of your outstanding performance.”

The ONC has requested a suitable date and time from the nominee for the formal presentation of the award, which is anticipated to be a major event bringing together stakeholders, traditional leaders, and community members across the Orashi region.
