Ojodu LCDA Inaugurates 6th Legislative Assembly, Opeyemi Apatira Emerge As Leader Of Legislative House

Ojodu LCDA, Lagos State, ushered in a new era of grassroots governance yesterday with the official inauguration of its 6th Legislative Assembly and the swearing-in of six newly elected Councillors representing the six wards of the council.
During the historic ceremony held both at the Legislative Chambers and Council Hall, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira (Ward A) emerged as the Leader of the House, with Hon. Lanre Ogunnoiki (Ward D) as Deputy Leader. Hon. Abass Shakiru Abiodun Bismillah (Ward F) was named Majority Leader while Hon. Shade Awolala (Ward B) assumed the role of Chief Whip. Other principal officers include Hon. Bukola Ademoyegun as Deputy Majority Leader and Hon. Lanre Fatiu Omoilu (Ward C) as Deputy Chief Whip.
The Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, who graced the event alongside his Vice Chairman, Hon. Funmi Layeni, charged the legislators to uphold transparency, integrity and collaboration with the executive to accelerate grassroots development.
Lagos State House of Assembly Member, Hon Adedamola Kasunmu, encouraged and admonished the Councillors to entrench effective lawmaking to enhance service delivery and improve residents’ quality of life.
The event was graced by the former Council Mayor, Hon Julius Oloro, LGA Party Chair, Alhaja Stella Kokumo, Apex Leaders, political stakeholders, traditional leaders and community members who expressed optimism that the new legislative team will deliver a tenure of inclusive governance, progress, and sustainable impact.
