Ogbunike Community Offers ₦2 Million Bounty For Arrest Of Murder Suspects

Posted on August 2, 2025

In a bold move to ensure justice and restore peace, the Ogbunike community has placed a ₦2 million bounty on Chiemerie Obika Elobisi and Nwafor Chibunna Ofornwatadile, two suspects currently on the run in connection with the gruesome murder of a pregnant nurse.
The announcement was made following community-wide outrage over the incident, which has shaken the peaceful town to its core. Concerned citizens are urged to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. All tips should be directed to the Nigeria Police Force through any nearby Police station.
Speaking on the development, the President General of the Ogbunike Progress Union, Ogbuefi Tochukwu Obiakor (Akudinobi Ogbunike), strongly condemned the heinous and barbaric act allegedly committed by the fugitives. He emphasized that the community stands firmly in support of law enforcement efforts to ensure justice is served.
Already, a significant breakthrough has been made. The community’s security outfit, Udogachi Vigilante, apprehended 24-year-old Somtochukwu Nwafor, believed to be connected to the murder. Investigations are ongoing.
Obiakor extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, assuring them that Ogbunike will not rest until Chiemerie and Chibunna are captured and brought to justice. He described the incident as deeply regrettable and uncharacteristic of the Ogbunike people.
“Ogbunike is a peace-loving and progressive community known for our hospitality and unity. This unfortunate incident does not define us. We are committed to protecting our name, our people, and the values we stand for,” Obiakor said.
The community appeals for public cooperation and vigilance, urging anyone with useful information to come forward.
