5 Company Workers Arraigned For Stealing N300m Worth Of Can Trophy Beer

Five company workers, Goodness Jummy, 37, Ebuka Uzoma, 28, Chibuzor Dike, 22, ThankGod Idibo, 37 and Michael Alademo, 43, have been charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing cans of Trophy Beer worth N300m belonging to Macden Communication Limited. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Wempco Road, Ogba, Lagos, where the company is located and the suspects were employed as workers.

 

According to the Police, the suspects had between February, 2024 to 24th July, 2025, at Macden Communication Limited, conspired and stole the items in bits without the knowledge of the company.

 

However, the act was exposed after the company embarked on an internal audit and discovered that the items were missing and the suspects were unable to explain what happened.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command at Ogba. The suspects were arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the missing goods worth the said amount.

 

The Police found them culpable after rounds of interrogation and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read :

COUNT I: “That you, Goodness Jummy ‘m’, Ebuka Uzorma ‘m’, Chibuzor Ken, Thankgod Idibo dibo ‘m’, Micheal Alademo ‘m’ and others still now at large sometime in February, 2024 to 24th July, 2025, at Macden Communication Limited situated at No. 4, Wempco Road, Ogba, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and hereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II: “That you, Goodness Jummy ‘m’, Ebuka Uzorma ‘m’, Chibuzor Edike ‘m’, Thankgod Idit:o ‘m’, Micheal Alademo ‘m’ on the same date, time and place at the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal packs of can trophy beer valued three hundred million Naira only (N300,000,000.00) property of Macden Communication Limited and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, they pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor,Supol Philip Ademigbuji asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
