Comrade Akeem Dauda Unveils Ikeja Youths Master Plan

12th of August is the day set aside globally as World Youth Day; a day where young people across the world are celebrated. This year, Ikeja Local Government took centre stage to celebrate the ever-resilient, vibrant, hardworking, and digital youths of Ikeja. They were celebrated in a special way.

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), a friend of the youths who has consistently affirmed that his administration’s focus is on youths and education hosted an interactive session with the dependable youths of Ikeja, where he officially unveiled the Ikeja Youths Master Plan.

The 5-Point Agenda of the Ikeja Youths Master Plan is as follows:

1. Education & Skills Development: Expanding access to quality education, vocational training, and digital literacy programmes to prepare youths for modern opportunities.

2. Youth Entrepreneurship & Employment: Creating platforms for startups, small businesses, and career placement, with special funding and mentorship support.

3. Sports & Creative Industry Development: Harnessing talents in sports, arts, music, and entertainment to promote self-reliance and global recognition.

4. Youth Leadership & Civic Engagement: Encouraging active participation in governance, community service, and decision-making processes.

5. Health & Wellbeing: Promoting mental health awareness, fitness, and accessible healthcare tailored to young people’s needs.

Speaking during the session, the Council Chairman, Comrade AKOD reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to building a future where Ikeja youths can dream big, seize opportunities, and thrive in every sphere of life.

At the event were the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore (OMITUNTUN) who also gave addressed the youths on being a good ambassador of Ikeja. Mr. Yomi Akinsola was also present as the keynote speaker challenging the youths on the SDGs. Management and Staffs of Ikeja Local Government were also present with the six councillors of Ikeja.
