Man, 42, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N10m Worth Of Diesel At Event Center

A 42-year old man, Ayodeji Oluyefa, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing litres of diesel worth over N10m at Vintage Point Event Centre.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oluyefa, has been arrested and charged over his alleged conduct against the complainant.
The incident happened on 11th March, 2025, at the center located at Wemco Road, Ogba, Lagos, where he was engaged by the management of the center.
According to the Police, the suspect was employed at the center and he was in charge of buying the diesel. He was alleged to have stolen the diesel belonging to OPE-WEMI JONES ” F and was later caught.
The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Command, Ogba. The Police operatives promptly arrested and detained him at the Command, where the complainant calculated the total litres of diesel that got missing and he was asked to pay the money.
The Police however, found him culpable after interrogation and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, AYODEJI OLUYEFA “M” on or before the 11th day of March, 2025, somewhere at Vintage Point Event Centre, Wemco Road, Ogba, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal several litres of diesel valued the sum of N10,006,520.00 (Ten Million and Six Thousand Five Hundred and Twenty Naira) only property of one OPE-WEMI JONES “F” by converting the proceed to your own use and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
