Edo State Forestry Commission Boss Hosts Sahara Energy Group

The Chairman of the Edo State Forestry Commission, Hon. Valentine Owamagbe Asuen, played host to a delegation from Sahara Energy Group, who were on a courtesy visit to his office at the Commission’s headquarters.
Hon. Asuen welcomed the delegation and expressed his satisfaction with their partnership with the Gele Gele Biodiversity Committee, aimed at actualizing the Gele Gele Biodiversity Program. He Commended His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State, for his unwaivering support towards the Programme and other reforestation programs in the state.
The Chairman also informed the Sahara Energy Group of the Edo State Government’s preparedness to launch the Governor  Okpebholo Green Initiative (OGI) an  ambitious program aimed at planting trees in all public schools (primary and secondary) and incorporating forestry into the educational curriculum in public schools across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the Sahara Energy Group, Mrs. Ejiro Gray, the Director of lands Governance and Sustainability of Sahara Energy Group, thanked the Edo State Forestry Commission for their support through the Gele Gele Biodiversity Committee, led by Mr. Lugard Okoro. She expressed her joy at the opportunity to partner with the Edo State Government through the Forestry Commission and the Gele Gele Biodiversity Committee, stating that it was a “dream come true.”
Mrs Ejiro She emphasized that reforestation efforts would boost economic activities in host communities.
The Sahara Energy Group delegation thanked Hon. Asuen for his hospitality and reaffirmed their support for the Edo State Government’s reforestation programs through the Forestry Commission.
