Posted on February 24, 2018

Church4Real – a branch of Church of God Mission located at Afisman Drive in the Anifowoshe area of Ikeja, Lagos embarked on the third edition of their clean up exercise in their good numbers to clean up their immediate community on Saturday February 24, 2018.

As part of its Community Impact Initiative, Church4Real led by Pastor Chris Ubamadu in collaboration with Anifowoshe Community Development Association mobilised the residents and business owners in the community to clean the environment and desilt the drainages around the community.

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, the coordinator of the clean up exercise, Mr. Patrick Ohikhuare, said it was part of their effort to give back to the community where the church is located. The church had over the years given away refuse bins to residents as part of their support for a clean and healthy environment, and had also empowered the youths in the area at different times.

The CDC chairman, Alhaji Sulukaleen Osinberu was very much on ground to mobilise the residents and even the elderly participated in the exercise. He thanked the church for the gesture and said it was a welcome development. Alhaji Osinberu also charged other churches and organisations in the area to do more to affect the community positively.

Some residents who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS expressed their joy at seeing the church continuing with the cleaning exercise and showing genuine interest about the welfare of people residing and doing businesses in their immediate environment. One of the residents, Mr. Innocent Obi said that he happily participated and encouraged more residents to complement the efforts of the church by ensuring proper disposal of refuse in order not to block the drainages in the area.

The clean up exercise was rounded up with the sharing of food and drinks by Church4Real to the people who participated. The residents were also invited to a programme holding on Sunday which will be used to finally round up the exercise.
