The group, which has been launched across the States in Nigeria and beyond, has started strategic move to unify Ndigbo to speak with one voice and preserve their cultural heritage.

The National President, Dr Ugochukwu Nnajiofor, in his address highlighted the mission and the vision of Igbonine Great People’s Assembly.

He stated the following :

“The Assembly, like any sociopolitical organization, thrives on delicate balance  between unity and progress. Analyzing its current state and charting a course for the future requires a careful consideration of the factors that foster unity,  cohesion and those that drive advancement.”

“One of the foundations of unity within the Assembly is a shared cultural identity, the common heritage, encompassing language, traditions, and values, provides a strong sense of belonging and mutual understanding. ”

“However, this unity can be threatened by internal divisions arising from differing political ideologies, economic disparities, and generational gaps. For instance, disagreements on resource allocation, leadership succession, or the adoption of modern practices can create friction and undermine the collective strength of the Assembly.”

“To mitigate these challenges, fostering open and inclusive dialogue is crucial. Regular fora for debate, mediation processes for resolving  conflicts and  transparent decision-making mechanisms are essential to maintaining a cohesive front.”

Further, emphasizing on  the shared goals and aspirations of the Assembly such as the preservation of cultural heritage and the promotion of socio-economic development, can serve as unifying forces.

“Progress within the Igbonine Great People’s Assembly hinges on its ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace innovation. This includes promoting education, encouraging entrepreneurship. and fostering technological advancement. However, progress can be hampered by resistance to change, a lack of resources, and inadequate infrastructure.”

“Traditional practices, while valuable in preserving culture and identity, can sometimes impede progress if they are rigidly adhered to without considering their impact on efficiency and effectiveness. To overcome these obstacles, the Assembly must prioritize investment in education and skills development, particularly in areas relevant to the modern economy. More, establishing partnerships with external organizations, including government agencies, private sector companies, and international institutions, can provide access to funding, expertise, and technology

The path forward for the Igbonine Great People’s Assembly requires a strategic approach that balances the need for unity with the imperative of progress. This involves strengthening internal cohesion through inclusive governance and promoting sustainable development through strategic partnerships and investments. Specifically, the Assembly should focus on developing a comprehensive strategic plan that outlines its long-term goals, identifies key priorities, and establishes measurable targets. This plan should be developed through a participatory process that involves all stakeholders, ensuring that it reflects the diverse perspectives and aspirations of the Assembly’s members.

The Assembly should prioritize the development of leadership skills among its members, equipping them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to navigate comptex challenges and arrive progress.”

In conclusion, the Igbonine Great People’s Assembly stands at a critical juncture. By addressing the challenges to unity and embracing a proactive approach to progress, the Assembly can unlock its full potential and contribute significantly to the well-being of its members and the broader community. This requires a commitment to open dialogue, inclusive governance, strategic partnerships, and sustainable development. Only through a concerted effort to balance unity and progress can the Igbonine Great People’s Assembly truly fulfill its mission and secure a prosperous future for generations to come.” It concluded.
