TEDxLagos Marks 10 Years of Ideas With “Woven Together” November 1

Posted on October 25, 2025

TEDxLagos is set to celebrate a decade of ideas worth spreading with a powerful 10th anniversary edition themed “Woven Together.”

The event will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, National Theatre, Lagos.

It will feature a dynamic lineup of speakers including Bovi Ugboma, Dr. Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau (Kaffy), and, alongside a diverse mix of innovators, storytellers, and changemakers from across Nigeria and beyond.

Since its inception, TEDxLagos has served as a platform for Nigeria’s brightest minds to share ideas that move people and shape the world.

The 2025 edition marks a milestone, celebrating a decade of thought leadership, innovation, and storytelling that continues to push boundaries across business, culture, and technology.

“Woven Together” draws inspiration from the African art of weaving, symbolising how individual narratives, disciplines, and experiences intertwine to form a stronger and more vibrant collective.

This year’s edition will honour the legacy of ideas that have shaped the last decade while exploring new ways to design a connected and collaborative future.

The 2025 lineup features distinguished voices including Dr. Ayodele Renner, Paediatrician and Health Content Creator; Benita Maria Kelechi-Opara, Award-winning Spoken Word Artiste; Bovi Ugboma, Visionary Entertainer; Eva Chisom-Chukwunelo, Disability Advocate; Nifemi Marcus-Belo, Visual Storyteller; Opeyemi Aderibigbe, Policy Advisor; Paul Ninson, Visual Educator and Storyteller; Sadiya Adado, Creative Storyteller; Vincent Egoro, Clean Energy Advocate; and Dr. Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau (Kaffy), Award-winning Dancer.

“Our success is a tapestry woven from countless individual threads,” said Mercy Akamo, Convener of TEDxLagos. “This anniversary is both a reflection on our past and a call to design the future together.”

This year’s event will also spotlight the TEDx Global Idea Search, a worldwide TED initiative that identifies and elevates the most compelling new ideas from independent TEDx communities around the globe.

As part of this effort, TEDxLagos 2025 will feature talks and stories that have the potential to reach TED’s global stage, reinforcing the city’s place in the international conversation on creativity, innovation, and impact.

The event experience has been carefully designed to reflect the theme “Woven Together,” with mainstage talks, breakout workshops, live digital experiences, and shared community moments that foster connection and collaboration.

Each element of the event, from the opening sequence to the closing reflection, serves as a metaphor for the threads of legacy and innovation that have shaped TEDxLagos over the years.

TEDxLagos has become one of Nigeria’s most respected platforms for new thinking, inspiring social change and amplifying the voices of those redefining the country’s creative and intellectual landscape.

The 2025 edition continues that legacy, aiming to reinforce Lagos’ reputation as Africa’s creative and cultural capital while motivating new partnerships and ideas that strengthen the community.
