GTCO Fashion Weekend Returns for Its Ninth Edition, Bringing Global Style And African Creativity To Lagos

Fashion moves with the times, but true style is timeless. This enduring relationship between creativity, culture and identity takes centre stage this weekend as Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) hosts the ninth edition of its flagship GTCO Fashion Weekend on Saturday November 7 and Sunday 8, 2026.
Holding at the GTCentre, Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, Lagos, and under the theme “Fashion Is Timeless,” this year’s edition promises two days of fashion, creativity, enterprise and inspiring conversations, bringing together some of the most exciting names in the global fashion industry.
Running from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, the event is free and open to the public.
A major highlight of the weekend will be the highly anticipated runway shows, featuring twelve designers from Africa and the international fashion scene.
Saturday, November 7, will feature collections from Tongoro, FIA Factory, Ibrahim Fernandez, Washington Roberts, Maison Sara Chraibi and Imane Ayissi, while Sunday’s showcase will spotlight Sukeina, House of Marvee, Selam Fessahaye, Kim Shui, Ohlanna Bu Zikora and LaQuan Smith.
Together, the designers will present distinctive creative perspectives, innovative craftsmanship and contemporary interpretations of fashion that reflect the diversity and dynamism of the global fashion landscape.
Beyond the runway, GTCO Fashion Weekend will feature an engaging programme of masterclasses led by accomplished personalities across fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
This year’s facilitators include fashion entrepreneur, model and digital creator Sherlina Nym, Rachel Ojuromi, Renee Morris, founder of natural hair brand Uncle Funky’s Daughter, and Buttah Skin, which will lead a dedicated skincare masterclass.
The sessions will provide valuable insights into fashion, entrepreneurship, beauty and the evolving opportunities within the creative industry.
The event will also host 140 curated fashion retail stores, offering guests an opportunity to discover and shop exciting range of stylish pieces, accessories and wardrobe essentials at accessible prices.
Complementing the retail experience is a dedicated Streetwear Hub, celebrating contemporary street culture and the creativity, individuality and entrepreneurial energy shaping modern fashion.
A significant development at this year’s edition is the introduction of the GTCO Fashion Collective, a year-round platform designed to extend the impact of Fashion Weekend beyond its annual two-day showcase.
The initiative will connect designers, models, stylists, photographers, editors, buyers, content creators and other professionals across the fashion ecosystem, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, visibility and commercial growth.
Commenting on the event, Mr Segun Agbaje, Group Chief Executive Officer of GTCO Plc, said: “Fashion is a powerful expression of creativity and culture, but it is also an important driver of enterprise and economic opportunity. Over the past nine years, the GTCO Fashion Weekend has evolved into a platform where talent is discovered, knowledge is shared and businesses are connected to new markets.
“This year, we are taking that commitment a step further with the introduction of the GTCO Fashion Collective, a year-round platform designed to connect designers, models, stylists, photographers, editors, buyers, content creators and the wider creative community, keeping the conversation, commerce and collaboration going beyond the Fashion Weekend.”
Agbaje also noted that, “At the heart of the GTCO Fashion Collective is our commitment to shining a light on the people and businesses that power Africa’s fashion ecosystem. By creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs to showcase their work, connect with customers and build sustainable businesses, we are reinforcing our commitment to Promoting Enterprise and Creating Great Experiences, while contributing to the growth and global recognition of African talent.”
Since its inception, GTCO Fashion Weekend has evolved into one of Africa’s foremost consumer-focused fashion and enterprise platforms, bringing together designers, retailers, creatives, entrepreneurs and fashion enthusiasts.
By providing a platform for businesses to showcase their creativity, connect with consumers and access new markets, the initiative continues to reinforce the role of fashion as both a cultural force and an engine of enterprise and economic opportunity.
As the countdown reaches its final days, fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and members of the public are invited to experience two exciting days of style, innovation and enterprise at the GTCentre, Oniru, Lagos, on November 7 and 8, 2026.
Admission is free and open to all.
