In appreciation of his outstanding show of support, promotion of health awareness and his recognizable achievements, the Ñyê-ïshï Èlé Úpātá Lî Ny’údū Úpātá III of Úpātá Kingdom, HM Dr Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, Fnipr attended this year’s Pharmacy Week on invitation by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), as the Royal Father of the event.

Speaking at the event, the Úpātá Monarch called on Pharmacists to intensify advocacy on who a Pharmacist is, urging the leadership to address quackery in the profession.

This, according to him, will assist in promoting professional identity of Pharmacists, noting regrettably that drug dispensers in communities lack requisite knowledge to provide clinical information to patients.

While Ny’údū Otuwarikpo firmly promised to partner with PSN, Rivers State Chapter, to organise a sensitization programme for Úpātá youths in November, this year, he condemn in its entirety the incidences of high rate of drug abuse which he insisted, is more prevalent in rural communities.

He however, decried the increasing rate of insanity and cultism amongst youths, attributing it to the illicit sale and consumption of prohibited drugs.
