Some Police officers at PMF Barracks in Ogudu, Lagos, are now in panic mood following the arrest of three Police Inspectors for brutally assaulting 22-year-old Jacob Sunday, son of one of their colleagues, to coma over alleged sex with their senior colleague’s wife inside the Barracks.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that officers, whose young wives reside within the Barracks, are said to be in apprehension as to what happens in their absence due to the nature of their job following what happened to their senior colleague’s wife especially when they are on special duties outside Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command apprehended three Police Inspectors, John Alom of 63 PMF Ikorodu, Sunday Adoga of CTU Base 2 Ikeja, and Jehovah Usam of 22 PMF Ikeja, for allegedly luring the young man into their room around 6pm on Tuesday before subjecting him to severe torture.
The victim, Jacob, said to be the son of Inspector Sunday Ochepo, was accused by the officers of having an affair with the wife of one ASP Audu Richard, identified as Sarah Richard, in her husband’s absence.
The victim was stripped naked and beaten mercilessly until he became unconscious. He was later rescued by a team of detectives and rushed to the Police College Cottage Hospital, Ikeja, where he has remained in the emergency unit receiving medical care.
The three officers involved in the beating have since been arrested and detained pending the outcome of an ongoing disciplinary and criminal investigation by the Command.
Police authorities in Lagos have confirmed the arrest and assured that justice will be served after the completion of investigations.
There has been reactions over the alleged adultery. The duo was said to have been engaged in a love affair inside the Barracks, which led to the beating of the victim to coma.
A source at the Barracks said some of the mobile Police officers leave their wives inside the Barracks while on official duties for several months and their wives are usually with the young men living with their parents inside the Barracks.
“There is the tendency for those young men and the officers wives to be involved in affairs leading to sex and both of them should not be blamed” he remarked.
