The arrest of the President of the Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Sunday Udeh and the self acclaimed Obi of Lagos, Chief Chibuike Azubuike and others, may be signals to what is awaiting the Ezendigbo title in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that one of the Ezendigbo in Mushin, Eze Peter Umeh, has replaced the Ezendigbo title with Onye Isi Ndigbo.
This came to fore in the invitation letters he sent to guests for his new yam festival coming up on 8th November, 2025.

The reason for the change from Ezendigbo to Onyeisi Ndigbo by Eze Peter Umeh was not disclosed.
However, some of the Igbo residents in Lagos State said it could be as a result of the perceived threat and intimidation for Ezendigbo title in some Local Council areas in the State.
When Eze Peter Umeh was contacted on his known number, it was switched off.
From the renouncement of Ezendigbo title by Eze Umeh, the Ezendigbo title holders in Mushin has been reduced to Eze John Nwosu and Eze Lawrence Monday.
