Cool Wealth Awards 2026 to Celebrate Leadership, Cultural Innovation in Lagos

The Cool Wealth Awards, holding in partnership with TMY Empire, is set to return for its 2026 edition, recognising contributions to entertainment, entrepreneurship, culture, and social influence across Africa and the diaspora. The event is scheduled for January 11, 2026, at Azalea Hall, Glover Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The awards, now regarded as a notable platform for honouring emerging and established figures, highlight individuals whose work has influenced cultural expression, industry development, and community engagement.

Distinguished Guests Expected
This year’s ceremony is expected to draw several prominent figures from traditional leadership, entertainment, and the creative sector, including:
HIM Oba Abimbola Owoade I, Alaafin of Oyo
,King Sunny Ade,Prince Jide Kosoko
,Fathia Balogun,Nike Art Gallery,Alh. Abass Akande Obesere,Hafiz Oyetoro (Saka), Alibaba, Oritse Femi, Akpororo, among others.

A spokesperson for the organising committee said the awards have, “consistently highlighted individuals whose roles reflect resilience, cultural continuity, and professional commitment.”

Nominees and Awarded Categories
Among the recognised nominees are:
IDAN NLA BITTERS – Brand Excellence Award, Folasade Omotoyinbo, Chief Executive Officer of POSHGLOW SKINCARE – Female Entrepreneur of the Year


Tunmyray Entertainment UK Entertainment/Media Impact Award

These nominees represent sectors experiencing growth both locally and internationally, particularly in the cultural and digital economy.

Honorary Recognition Recipients
Two honorary recognitions will also be presented during the ceremony:

Jimmy Ofuoyan (360Kuts / KhalilImages)

A Nigerian barber and entrepreneur based in Milan. He will be acknowledged for shaping grooming culture within diaspora communities and establishing creative professional visibility abroad.
Benjamin Oyemonlan
A software engineer and blockchain-focused entrepreneur. He will be recognised for work supporting youth inclusion and technology-based empowerment initiatives across parts of Africa.

Cultural Significance

Commenting on the event, the TMY Empire Coordinating Office noted that the awards “serve as a space for acknowledging the efforts of professionals who contribute to social and cultural development through their fields.

The Cool Wealth Awards is positioned as part of a broader effort to document and celebrate African achievement in sectors undergoing rapid transformation, particularly in media, digital enterprise, and creative arts.
