Prof Ngozi Odu-Led Flood Committee Applauded By ONC For Timely Intervention

It must be noted that the Rivers State Flood Prevention and Management Committee has distributed the second batch of relief items to three Local Government areas of the state.

The President General of Orashi National Congress, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, shortly after the distribution, called on the Council Chairmen to ensure equitable distribution.

The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the committee, Prof Ngozi Odu,ably represented by the Head of Service at the distribution center of the items, urged the fair distribution in Abual Odual, Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt City to the affected flood victims.

The Chairman of Abua Odual local government area, Hon Ofori Owolobi, represented by a former leader of the legislative assembly, Rt Hon Ofori Namuniim, thanked the Rivers State Government for the relief items and assured of judicious distribution.

Our correspondent reports that items distributed to the three council areas included: mattresses, pillows, bedsheets, cooking items, soaps, clothing materials, plates, spoons, chairs plastic buckets among others.
