Notable Niger Delta socio-cultural group, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, has conferred the prestigious Ambassador of Peace (AP) Certificate of Excellence on Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Dr. Emmanuel Wagbara, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to peacebuilding, security enhancement, cultural development and humanitarian service within the Orashi region and the state at large.

ACP Wagbara, who previously served as DPO in Abua/Odual and 2IC in Ahoada Division—both within the Orashi axis—expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as a clear testament that the world is watching and acknowledging the sacrifices made by dedicated officers in the service of humanity.

Highlighting his career trajectory, ACP Wagbara stated that he has served diligently across several divisions including Rumupirikom, Rumuolumeni, Ogoniba (Trans-Amadi), and currently as the Area Commander, Rumuokoro. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to serving the nation irrespective of challenges.

Addressing lingering concerns surrounding his current professional status, ACP Wagbara clarified issues relating to the February 2025 incident involving alleged wrongful directives said to have emanated from a retired IG.

According to him, “Due to anger and malicious statements by someone eyeing the office, The IG of Police who retired in 2024 reportedly instructed all first entrants to go home. This is why many of us have been grounded. We challenged the matter in court to establish our rights”.

He further disclosed that the National Industrial Court, on 30th September, ruled in their favour, ordering that he and others affected be recalled to duty.

“By the grace of God, my service remains open to all. My expected service year ends in 2035. The Inspector-General of Police should obey the court judgment or appeal it,” he added.

Also present at the event was His Royal Highness, Monday Woo Orlu, the 19th Olota, who commended ACP Wagbara for his integrity, urging youths of Anaka and the entire to emulate his exemplary character.

HRH Monday Woo Orlu emphasized that “a good name is better than riches,” stressing that the ACP’s achievements reflect the true essence of honour, discipline and community service.

The award ceremony, organized by the Orashi National Congress under the leadership of its National President, Comrade Emeni Ibe, celebrated ACP Wagbara as a symbol of dedication, peace and professionalism in the Nigerian Police Force.
