After losing narrowly to the homers,Osun Babes in the week two of the Nigerian Women’s Football League, NWFL, head coach of Ahudiyannem Queens Football Club of Abia, Ann Chiejine said she was satisfied with the performance of her players despite conceding late goal via penalty kick.

Speaking with our correspondent on Thursday morning, Chiejine said her girls controlled the game and played to instructions but frowned how the encounter ended.

“I am proud of my girls despite the 1-0 loss to them.My girls gave everything to the match unfortunately we lost through penalty at the last minute,”said Chiejine who believes that their next home match would be better.

Chiejine who doubles as assistant coach of Super Falcons urged his players not to be worried about the defeat and charged them to remain focused in their next game.

Commenting on the two matches played so far,. Chiejine insisted that her girls have done well considering the fact that many of them were recruited as grassroots players.

“We are just three months old club and I recruited mainly grassroots players ahead of our league and I worked on them to compete with professional players.

“Our first match was Remo Ladies and my girls tormented them unfortunately it ended in barren draw and our next match against Osun Babes was not bad so if I assess my team,I think we are better in each match,”she said.

In her own comment, assistant coach of Abia based club,Okunwa Gift admitted that they were unlucky to have lost the match noted that his girls were very impressive throughout the pulsating tie.
