The crisis in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State appears to be without end following the decision of Chief Sunday Ossai to set up a parallel electoral committee against the judgment of the Court and decision of the apex body worldwide declaring Chief Solomon Aguene as the authentic president.
P.M.EXPRESS reports as was contained in a memo dated 7th December, 2025, by Chief Ossai through his spokesman, Prince Ubochi C. Ubochi.
The memo stated:
“The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, High Chief Sunday Ossai (Stainless) presents this brief recap to refresh the memories of our esteemed members.”
“As the year 2025 winds down, it is essential that we reflect on our journey so far and prepare strategically for the year ahead.”
“The President remains grateful to God for His grace and the victories recorded throughout 2025. It was an eventful and fulfilling year; our general meetings were consistently filled to capacity with members from across Lagos.”
“The President deeply appreciates all members for responding to his call and for their meaningful contributions, which have kept our apex body vibrant, influential, and relevant to Ndigbo in Lagos State.”
“Despite the visible desperation of certain rogue elements who attempted to exploit our organization for selfish interests; resorting to blackmail, misuse of law enforcement agencies, and misleading court claims, every one of their efforts failed woefully.”
“As always, darkness cannot overshadow light. With the President now taking a more proactive stance, these detractors have found themselves on the defensive.”
“Looking ahead, 2026 promises even greater excitement, especially with the upcoming Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State elections.”
“A thorough and inclusive electoral committee will soon be unveiled, ensuring that all affiliated bodies are duly represented. The committee will be structured to guarantee a smooth and credible transition to the next leadership. The NEC of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide will also play a key role in this crucial election.”
“The President extends warm wishes to every member for a peaceful and joyous festive season and prays for God’s continued protection as our people travel to the East and return safely in the new year.”
“He eagerly looks forward to personally welcoming every member with a warm handshake at our first general meeting of 2026 scheduled for 31st January, 2026.”
“The President wishes all members the very best Christmas and a Happy New Year” the memo stated.
Meanwhile, Chief Aguene, the authentic president as recognised by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has already set up electoral committee headed by Chief Oliver Akubueze and Rev. Paul Eze as Chairman and secretary respectively.
