Sales Boy Docked For Stealing N7.3m Worth Of Goods At Trade Fair Complex

An 18-year old sales boy, Israel Okoye, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing goods worth N7.3m belonging to his female boss, Chisom Ejikeme, at Balogun market plaza at Trade Fair Complex, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that incident happened between 12th and 14th August, 2025 at Ekiti Plaza, BBA, Trade Fair Cmplex, Lagos.

According to the Police, the suspect and others stole the items and escaped. Thereafter, the complainant discovered what happened through an internal audit.
The matter was reported to the Police at Trade Fair Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the missing items.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Israel Okoye, former sales boy of one Chisom Ejikeme, f and two others at large on the 12th/14th day of August, 2025 at about 1400hrs at Ekiti Plaza, BBA, Trade Fair Cmplex, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to, and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Israel Okoye, former sales boy of one Chisom Ejikeme, ‘f on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial district, did steal the following Cosmetics products: 3 Cartons of Hauwai Soap. 5 Cartons of Vaseline Oil, 2 Cartons of Purest Glow Baths, 4 Cartons of Doctor Davey Body Oil, 2 Cartons of Peona Delune Cleanser and two cartons of Alpha Arbutin Scrub, all valued N7,300,000.00 (Seven Million. Three hundred thousand naira) property of one Chison Ejikeme ‘f’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280, and punishable under Section 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
