The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), today featured on The Conversation, a flagship programme of the Lagos State-owned Lagos Television (LTV).

Speaking on the live programme aired at 11:00 a.m., the Council Chairman engaged viewers on the topic “Local Government and Service Delivery to the Grassroots”. During the session, he highlighted the philosophy and practical approach of his administration towards responsive governance, people-oriented policies, and inclusive development at the grassroots level.

The Ikeja Chairman used the opportunity to reel out key achievements recorded within his first 100 working days in office, emphasizing interventions in infrastructure, education, community engagement, and youth development aimed at improving the quality of life of Ikeja residents.

Comrade Dauda also responded to questions on citizens’ responsibilities to government, stressing the importance of the prompt payment of taxes and rates as a critical enabler for seamless funding and execution of developmental projects.

He further underscored his administration’s commitment to accountability, identified as the final pillar of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, alongside sustained and continuous engagement with communities across the Local Government Area.

When asked what legacy he hopes to leave behind at the end of his tenure, the Council Chairman stated his desire to be remembered for positively redirecting the lives of many young people away from the streets, fostering a crime-free Ikeja, and ensuring the existence of at least three fully functional secondary schools, in addition to other monumental projects spread across the Local Government Area.

The appearance reaffirmed Comrade Dauda’s dedication to transparent governance, service delivery, and building a safer, more prosperous Ikeja for all.
