Man, 29, Docked For Allegedly Defiling Girl, 10

A 29-year old man, Nnamdi Orogbo Isaac, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 10-year old girl in sex and defiling her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Orogbo, has been arrested and charged for the alleged defilement under the Criminal Law of the State over his conduct.
The incident happened on 1st January, 2026, at Alatise Opposite Baale Compound, Ibeju -Lekki, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment, engaged her in sex and having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go but warned her not to tell anyone about it.
However, the victim told her parents about what happened and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Nnamdi Orogbo Isaac ‘m’, on the 1st day of January, 2026, at about 1400hours, at Alatise Opposite Baale Compound, Ibeju -Lekki, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile one girl, ‘f 10years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
