APC Governors Endorse Party Congresses, CommenceNationwide Mobilisation Tour

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has unanimously endorsed the timetable released by the national working committee for the conduct of congresses and national convention. 

 

It also expressed satisfaction with the party’s current digital membership and e registration framework and announced its commencement of a nationwide tour to engage with members and stakeholders on ways of strengthening the APC.

 

These were part of the highlights of the Communique issued by PGF after its meeting held on Wednesday at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge ,Abuja.

 

In the Communique signed by the forum’s Chairman and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the governors reaffirmed their commitment to sustain the unity, stability and cohesion of APC.

While endorsing the timetable released by the National Executive Committee of the party, the governors emphasized the need for transparent and coordinated management of the congresses and national convention.

According to them, this is to ensure ” fairness, consistency and accountability across all states, including those without APC governed administrations ”

The governors noted that after listening to briefings by the National Chairman of the APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda , they were satisfied with the arrangement for the nationwide e registration exercise by the party.

They disclosed that they were embarking on a nationwide tour beginning with Taraba state for ” strategic engagement and outreach ”

 

They averred that the visits were ” aimed at reinforcing grassroots structures, strengthening party cohesion and supporting progressive governance across the federation ”

 

They also resolved to continue to support the deepening of democracy, enhancement of party structures and “advancing reforms that promote transparency, accountability and inclusiveness within the APC across all levels of the federation.”

 

While welcoming the governors of Taraba and Plateau states to the PGF, the governors resolved to ” work in partnership with the APC leadership to advance national development, democratic consolidation and people centred governance.”

 

They commended members of the National Executive Committee of the party for their constructive engagement and pledged to continue to work harmoniously with them in the interest of APC and Nigeria.
