How God Supplied Me A Chartered Flight Without Booking For It In Answer To Desperate Prayer

I left home in Abuja yesterday to board a flight to Lagos enroute to my East African Missions. I got to the airport early and checked in. I didn’t hear my flight called so 30 minutes to departure, I went to the counter to ask what was happening. The staff at the counter said they had just announced final boarding and promptly checked me for boarding. Getting to the tarmac, I was told to enter the bus taking passengers to the flights. The driver showed no sense of urgency and choose to take others to their flights and dropped me last. By the time I got to my plane, the doors had just been locked and the ground crew said they were waving to the driver to drop me first as they were ready to depart.

The plane revved its engines and began to taxi preparatory to take off. I stood on that tarmac, angry and desperate. I said, ‘Lord you know I have to be in Lagos today. Send that plane back to carry me.’ Ridiculous, right? For a little over 40 years, I have preached – ‘Sometimes, the ridiculous becomes the miraculous.’ But the more I prayed, the farther the plane got until it flew away.

The ground crew, Mr. Aliu and a lady led me from the tarmac back to the checking counter inside. They were booking me for the flight for the following day. I called my wife to come back to the airport to pick me.

To be honest, i had forgetten the desperate prayer i made on the tarmac and had settled for the following day. I sent a text to Baba Faki (@Gbenga Fakile with whom i was to have lunch with Pastor Tunde Bakare at that very moment to convey my inability to make it to Lagos. Then suddenly, i head the voices of some men shouting – where is the man who missed his flight? Come with us NOW! Mr. Aliu grabbed me and said, let’s go. We raced across the tarmac to where another of their plane sat, the engine revving up to go. I was asked to board immediately. When I entered the plane, I was the ONLY passenger. The door was shut and only two Ethiopians crew members were in the plane with me. Within minutes we were in the air.

Whilst the plane was taxing, I motioned to one of the crew members and asked him – ‘What happened?’ His answer was – ‘we have an assignment in Lagos and they were told what happened to me with their flight to Lagos and they decided to take me along.’

Why was it that exact moment when I needed a miracle that they decided to move? Why did they feel compelled to take me with them? All I can say is that God answers prayers, desperate prayers. In my 42 years of ministry, I have seen and heard innumerable testimonies in my own life and in the lives of people from England to Germany to America to Bahamas to China and across Africa. Be encouraged that the God we serve has absolutely no limitations and is capable of meeting our needs.

Pls feel free to share widely to encourage somebody today.
