Ooni Congratulates Adewole, Fani-Kayode, Jimoh Ibrahim, Other Yorubas Among Newly Appointed Ambassadors

The Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula and the Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II has congratulated the newly appointed Nigerian ambassadors and diplomatic representatives announced by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while specially acknowledging the Yoruba sons among the appointees.

 

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Ooni described the appointments as a significant move toward strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic representation across the world.

 

The Ooni who is also the Permanent Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) specifically congratulated Isaac Folorunso Adewole, an indigene of Ilesa in Osun State, who was appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Canada.

 

The Ooni also extended his congratulations to Femi Fani-Kayode, an indigene of Ile-Ife in Osun State, who was appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Germany.

Similarly, the Ooni Ogunwusi congratulated Jimoh Ibrahim, a native of Igbotako in Ondo State, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Ooni Ogunwusi who is the Co-Chairman, National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, described Senator Ibrahim who holds a doctorate graduate of the University of Cambridge, Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master of Science from the University of Oxford as the right man for the job.

While acknowledging these distinguished Yoruba sons among the appointees, the Ooni congratulated all the newly appointed ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, describing their appointments as a call to serve the nation with commitment, patriotism and excellence.

The Ooni expressed confidence that the appointees possess the competence, experience and exposure required to effectively represent Nigeria and promote the country’s interests on the global stage.

He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their responsibilities with dedication while projecting a positive image of Nigeria in their various postings.

The Ooni also commended President Tinubu for the appointments, praising the President’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic corps and ensuring that competent Nigerians are positioned to advance the nation’s interests internationally.

He further hailed the President for what he described as his continued efforts toward national development and effective global engagement, expressing optimism that the newly appointed ambassadors will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s progress and international relations.
