Council Of Ndieze Dissolves Factions, Inaugurates New Governing Board & Bans Further Crowning Of Ezendigbo

Igbo traditional leaders in Lagos State have collapsed various factions and are now united under the Governing Board of the Council of Ndi Eze Igbo drawn from six factional groups. They also took a decision to restore peace among Ndieze and indeed Ndigbo in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that among the decisions taken by the board also known as Central Council of Ezendigbo, include the restoration of peace in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos chapter and banning further crowning of Ezendigbo in Local Councils in the State.
This was the outcome of the inaugural meeting of the Governing Board of the Council of Ndi Ezeigbo held on 10th March, 2026, at the office of Eze Chika Nwokedi in Ijegun, Lagos.
The meeting was attended by the former factional leaders of Ndieze, Eze John-Greg Okey Ezebuadi, Eze (Dr) Chika Nwokedi, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, Eze Amb. Nicholas Njoku, Eze Ikem Agbasi, Eze Tony Greg Anosike while Eze Uche Dimgba (Okpotemba) was unavoidably absent.
The board was formed following all inclusive meeting of the factions held at the stadium in Surulere, Lagos, presided over by the Eze Chris Offia led Council of Eze Igbo, whose tenure was said to have elapsed on 22nd November, 2025.
It was at the meeting that Ndieze agreed to come together to form the Governing Board /BOT, which has now taken decisive actions that will bring peace and unite Ndieze and indeed Ndigbo in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS findings revealed that the Governing Board was made up of leaders of factions within Ndieze, who have unanimously agreed to come under one umbrella and leadership.
Eze Chika Nwokedi was the Chairman of the Council of Ezendigbo of the Igbo Speaking Community, While Eze John-Greg Okey Ezebuadi was the leader of the Council of Ndieze Southern zonal chapter.
Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze was the Chairman of Supreme Council of Ndieze of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Eze Uche Dimgba was the BOT Chairman, Ndieze in diaspora.
Eze Ikem Agbasi was the chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in diaspora, Eze Nicholas Njoku was Chairman of Council of Ndieze, Imo State in Diaspora and Eze Tony Anosike was the Chairman of Council of Ndieze, Anambra State.
In the communique, they commended the peace initiative of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo factions led by Chief Solomon Aguene and Chief Sunday Udeh and gave royal blessings to those who worked tirelessly to ensure that peace returned to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
They expressed their commitment to work with the leadership of Ohanaeze to ensure that the forthcoming election will be fair and transparent without any rancor.
