In a display of communal solidarity, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, hosted members of the Muslim community across the three senatorial zones of Anambra State for the 2026 Iftar. The gathering at the “Light House” also enabled the Governor to break the daily fasting with the Muslim leaders as they observe the Holy month of Ramadan

Addressing his guests, Governor Soludo expressed his profound gratitude to the Muslim community’s in Anambra State for their endorsement during the last gubernatorial election.

He highlighted the statistical weight of their support, noting that the administration secured a landslide victory with 73% of the total votes cast.

“I appreciate your commitment to this brotherhood,” Soludo stated. “We will not disappoint. We will continue to work hard.”

Governor Soludo referenced the reinstated national anthem as a symbol of the “One Nation, One Destiny” philosophy, urging Nigerians to live in unity and love for one another

Reaffirming his inclusive policy, he declared, “Once you are resident here, you have equal rights with everyone. All Nigerians should be able to choose where they want to live without fear of molestation or rejection.”

The Governor noted a significant decline in insecurity, specifically pointing out that the once-prevalent herder-farmer clashes have been reduced to a point of “non-significance.”

Governor Soludo also observed that the spirit of Anambra is one of migration and integration. “You find Anambra people literally in every village,” he remarked, using this as a parallel to welcome all Nigerians who have chosen to make Anambra their home.

During the event, the Secretary General of the Anambra State Muslim Council, Alhaji Sanni Ejoh, formally congratulated Governor Soludo on his re-election. Reflecting on the administration’s first term, Ejoh described the journey as “Eventful, memorable, challenging, and result-laden.”

He emphasized that such gatherings are vital in deepening the cordial relationship between the state government and the Muslim community, noting that the support for the Governor was evidenced by his decisive victory at the polls.

The event concluded with remarks from the Chairman of the Fulani Community in Anambra State, Alhaji Gidado Saddiki, who joined other leaders in praising the atmosphere of peace and the sense of community enjoyed under the current administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
