Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chieftain, Chief Moses Nwokoro Debunks Supporting Solomon Aguene Against Emma Ubah

A chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Moses Nwokoro, has publicly debunked a media interview credited to him in which he was said to have declared support for the former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, against Chief Emma Ubah (Otunba Ojoto), over allegations of electoral fraud in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the controversy follows revelations by Chief Emma Ubah that Chief Solomon Aguene allegedly swindled him of millions of Naira during the Ohanaeze Ndigbo election. Chief Ubah had accused Aguene of collecting the money under the false pretence of securing the position of President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
However, Chief Nwokoro has now distanced himself from the said interview, insisting that he never spoke to any journalist or media house on the matter. He described the publication as fabricated and misleading.
“At no point in time did I grant any interview or speak to any journalist concerning the allegations against Chief Solomon Aguene by Otunba Ojoto,”
“The story is false and did not emanate from me.”
Nwokoro further alleged that the media house in question was sponsored by Aguene to use his name and photograph to divert attention from the scandal. He described the act as an attempt to “cover up his shameless conduct” against Chief Emma Ubah.
According to him, dragging his name into the dispute was a deliberate ploy to confer legitimacy on Aguene’s actions and mislead the public, especially Ndigbo in Lagos who are following developments within Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
Nwokoro warned Chief Aguene to desist from associating his name with the controversy currently trending on social media. He said the allegation that Aguene collected millions of Naira from Ubah under false pretences is a serious matter that should be addressed by the parties involved, without roping in elders who were not involved.
The Ohanaeze chieftain emphasized that he has always stood for truth, accountability, and due process in the affairs of Ndigbo in Lagos.
Chief Nwokoro urged Ndigbo to disregard the purported interview and await verified statements from him on any matter concerning Ohanaeze Ndigbo. He reiterated that he would not allow his name to be used to whitewash what he called “a shameless conduct”.
