Man, 31, Lands In Trouble For Sneaking Into Woman’s Room With Face Mask & Cutlass For Sex

A 31-year old man, Bolu Anasa, has escaped being charged for armed robbery in Lagos State after he allegedly sneaked into the room of one Omoge Taiwo with a face mask and cutlass to lure her for sex but it backfired and he was caught as an armed robber.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 6th April, 2026, at MayKem Povita, Badagry area of Lagos.
The woman raised an alarm and the suspect was apprehended as an armed robber and handed over to the Police.
At the station, he quickly confessed to the Police that he was not an armed robber and only sneaked into the complainant”s room for sex before he was caught.
After thoroughly investigating the incident, the Police absolved him of armed robbery charges and charged him before the Badagry Magistrate Court for unlawful entering into the complainant’s room to commit felony.
During the hearing, the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the Court that the defendant committed the offence by unlawfully entering into the room of a complainant’, one Omoge Taiwo, with face mask and cutlass, with intent to commit felony and assaulted her.
According to him, the defendant assaulted the complainant by beating her and causing her injuries.
“The defendant was in possession of a cutlass which he could not give satisfactory account of. He conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by causing pandemonium.”
“He was later arrested and handed over to Police for prosecution,” he said.
The offences contravened the provisions of Sections 168, 173, 308 and 329 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
He pleaded guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Nurudeen Layeni, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center for facts and sentence having pleaded guilty.
The matter was then adjourned till 13th May, 2026, for the Court to sentence him accordingly.
