Woman Puts To Bed After 12 Years Of Barrenness
CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

Silver Estate and its environs in Ejigbo, Lagos may have turned to a sort of Mecca after an aged woman, Mrs. Ebere Ukaegbu against all odds put to bed a baby to the surprise of the residents.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the residents were surprised because they reasoned that Mrs. Ukaegbu had advanced in age, must have reached her menopause and the hope of having any child ruled out.
However, some months back she felt dizzy, sick and went to the hospital for laboratory tests to know what was wrong with her. The result of the test reportedly showed that she was pregnant.
According to an elated Ukaegbu, she was surprised and did not believe it initially because she had travelled to countries like India, USA, UK, UAE and many others in search of solutions. She had equally spent millions of Naira and thousands of dollars to get pregnant to no avail.
She was said to have left everything in God’s hand and concluded that probably it was her fate not to have a child for her husband because of her age and having reached menopause. The family was said to have agreed on how to raise money to adopt a child that will take care of them at their old age and were making contacts on that.
However, all their plans and conclusions turned out to be a mirage as God had another plan for her as she became pregnant and was delivered of a baby last week.
The incident has become the centre of discussions within the community as many expressed shock and surprise, because from the medical angle some believed it was said not to be possible.
However, majority believed that despite the medical conclusions that with God it was possible and it has shown in the case of Mrs. Ukaegbu.
Some of the barren women in the area who heard about her own case trooped to her house to thank God and use her as point of contact to have their own babies.
P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that some women looking for the fruit of womb had tied their wrappers around Mrs. Ukaegbu with tears and prayers asking God to remember them as He had remembered Mrs. Ukaegbu. Those who have visited the family especially members from her Catholic Church parish, showered her with gifts and prayers thanking God for the miracle and bringing joy to the family.
