A new youth-focused initiative, Young Future Connect (YFC), has launched out with plans to equip young Nigerians with practical skills, mentorship, career guidance, and employment opportunities, according to organizers.
The platform was founded by Dr. Uzu Onyemaechi Robert and is powered by RUZU Foundation, the organizers stated in a release made available to http://pmexpressng.com.
According to the organizers, Young Future Connect is designed to identify, mentor, and expose youths to various career paths while helping them develop skills needed in today’s labor market.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Dr. Robert said the platform will provide mentorship, practical skills, career guidance, and opportunities to help young people succeed.
“We want to pull as many youths as possible away from the streets and position them to actualize their chosen careers,” Dr. Robert was quoted as saying.
The programme will leverage both digital and physical learning models, with about 90 percent of training sessions conducted online, allowing participants to learn from professionals across different industries regardless of location.
The initiative will bring together experts from fields including journalism, digital marketing, content creation, software development, cybersecurity, data analysis, sports, hospitality, fashion, agribusiness, fintech, media and entertainment.
Young Future Connect said it has a Board of Directors comprising professionals drawn from sectors such as Sports, Hospitality, Travel and Tours, Software Development, Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Agribusiness, Financial Technology and Blockchain.
Dr. Robert stated that the programme will expose participants to industry professionals who will provide mentorship and practical experience in chosen career paths.
“For instance, if someone wants to become a journalist, content creator, actor, filmmaker, software developer, or digital marketer, we will bring professionals in those fields to train and mentor them,” he said.
Beyond training, the initiative plans to partner with corporate organizations and institutions, including polytechnics and universities, to offer certifications, internships, and employment opportunities to participants.
As part of its sustainability model, Young Future Connect will introduce digital entrepreneurship and marketing initiatives, enabling participants to earn income while learning digital marketing skills.
The programme will commence with an online registration process, after which successful applicants will be integrated into dedicated WhatsApp groups and channels for orientation and learning.
A physical orientation event will also be organized, bringing together participants and industry professionals for networking, mentorship, and career guidance sessions, the organizers said.
Young Nigerians interested in joining the programme can register free of charge through the official online application form. For more information, prospective participants can call 08035757549, the organizers stated.
