54-Year Old Nwaru Lands In Prison Over Attempt To Seduce Girl,13

A 54-year old man, Mr. Jonathan Nwaru who allegedly attempted to seduce a 13-year old girl (name withheld) by touching her private part has landed in trouble in Lagos.

The incident happened at Muri Busari Street, Olotin village, Adeniyi Jones area of Ikeja, Lagos where they resided.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Mr. Nwaru lured the victim in the absence of her parents and touched her private part in order to get her in the mood for sex. The victim did not like what Nwaru did to her but was able to resist the temptation. She later reported the assault to her parents who did not take it lightly.

The matter was then reported to the Gender Section of the Police Command at Ikeja. He was later arrested and detained. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Nwaru admitted before the police that he touched her private part but did not have carnal knowledge of her.

The police found him culpable and charged him before Ogba Magistrates court for sexual assault.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter E. Nwaka granted Nwaru bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John did not object his bail condition.

However, he was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 2 May, 2018.
