Comrade Dauda Joins Residents As Ikeja Hosts Celebrity Boxing Promotion

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Wednesday joined residents and visitors at the Ikeja Under Bridge for the promotional tour ahead of the much-anticipated celebrity boxing rematch between Nigerian entertainers, Portable and Charles Okocha.

The publicity event, organised by the fight promoters, attracted a large crowd of boxing enthusiasts and curious residents, creating an atmosphere of excitement and entertainment in the heart of Ikeja.

Comrade Dauda’s presence underscored the local government’s support for legitimate activities that positively showcase Ikeja as a vibrant commercial and entertainment hub capable of hosting events that attract public interest.

The Council Chairman also encouraged organisers and participants to continue promoting entertainment in a peaceful and orderly manner while ensuring that public safety and environmental sanitation remain priorities during such engagements.

Accompanying the Chairman to the event were the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Adeyinka Illo, the supervisory councillor for Youths, Hon. Ayotunde Adenuga, the Supervisory councillor for Special Duties, Hon. Dada Adams, the Special Adviser for Youths, Hon. Christopher Joseph.

The promotional tour concluded peacefully, with residents expressing excitement ahead of the highly anticipated bout.
