Dr. Ajimobi arrived in Vienna on Friday to commence her assignment and was warmly received at the VIP Wing of Vienna International Airport by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Nigeria, Mr. Muyiwa Onifade.

She was also welcomed by Home-Based Officers, Local Staff, and leaders of various Nigerian community organisations in Austria, including the Oduduwa Group, Igbo Cultural Group, Nigeria-Austria Friendship Group, Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO), and the Nigerian Students Association in Austria.

Expressing appreciation for the warm reception, Ambassador Ajimobi described it as a demonstration of the unity, patriotism and commitment of Nigerians in the diaspora towards the nation’s progress.

She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives, strengthening the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Austria, and deepening cooperation with the various international organisations headquartered in Vienna.

According to her, “I am deeply grateful for the warm and heartfelt welcome accorded to me upon my arrival in Vienna. I look forward to working closely with the staff of the Mission, the Nigerian community, the Austrian Government and our international partners to further strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between Nigeria and Austria.”

The Ambassador further pledged to promote Nigeria’s interests in the areas of diplomacy, trade, investment, education, culture, technology and multilateral engagement while fostering stronger collaboration with Nigerians living in Austria.
