Ooni Pays Emotional Tribute As His Elder Brother Passes On

The Permanent Chairman of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC), Arole Oodua Olofin Adimula and the Natural Head of the Oduduwa race worldwide, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his immediate elder brother, the late Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as a distinguished son of Ile-Ife whose remarkable life was defined by humility, integrity, entrepreneurial excellence and unwavering commitment to humanity.

 

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Senior Media Officer, Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal on behalf of the Director of Media and Public Affairs, Ooni’s Palace, Otunba Moses Olafare, the foremost African Monarch expressed profound tribute over the passing of his beloved elder brother Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, saying his demise has created an irreplaceable vacuum within the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.

 

Born on December 8, 1967, into the family of Pa John Oluropo Ogunwusi of the illustrious Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi distinguished himself as one of Nigeria’s accomplished entrepreneurs and served as the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings, where he built an enduring reputation for excellence, innovation and visionary leadership.

 

The Ooni noted that beyond his outstanding accomplishments in business, the late prince remained a compassionate philanthropist and a dependable pillar of support to countless individuals, quietly touching lives through generosity, wise counsel and selfless service.

 

“Today, the entire royal family mourn not only a brother and son but also a trusted confidant, a dependable pillar of our family and a man whose life reflected honour, dignity and uncommon compassion. His unwavering dedication to family values, his entrepreneurial spirit and his genuine love for humanity will forever remain a source of inspiration to us all,” the Ooni stated.

 

According to the Ooni, Prince Adetunji’s enduring legacy transcends the business community, as he consistently upheld the noble values of the Ojaja Royal Family through his exemplary conduct, humility and commitment to the progress of society.

 

The Ooni prayed that the Almighty Olodumare grants the departed eternal rest and comforts his immediate family, friends, business associates and all those whose lives were positively impacted by his remarkable journey.

 

While extending his condolences to members of the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife, the revered monarch urged everyone to take solace in the impactful life Prince Adetunji lived, stressing that his legacy of excellence, kindness and service to humanity will continue to resonate for generations.

 

“Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his footprints on the sands of time can never be erased.
