Lagos CP Confirms Arrest Of 4 Suspects Linked To Alleged, Cultism, Killings & Armed Robbery In Ajah

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has confirmed the arrest of four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly linked to killings, armed robberies, and cult activities in Ajah and surrounding areas.

According to the Command, the arrests followed intensive follow-up investigations into a robbery incident reported within the Ajah axis.

The Police identified the suspects as Kareem Abiodun, 26; Tansiru Emmanuel, 29; Lateef Usman, 28; and Alashe Azeez, 32.

Items recovered from the suspects included three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes, and one POS machine, the Command stated.

The Command said preliminary investigations suggest the group was involved in robbery operations in Ajah, Sangotedo, and Ibeju-Lekki areas of the state.

According to the Police, the suspects made statements during interrogation in which they admitted involvement in armed robbery, murder, and cult-related activities. The Command noted that investigations are ongoing to verify the claims.

The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting operatives with further inquiries, the Police added.

CP Fatai said efforts are also ongoing to arrest other members of the alleged gang and to recover more exhibits that may be connected to their activities.

The Commissioner commended the officers involved in the operation for their professionalism and urged them to sustain intelligence-led policing across Lagos State.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to clamping down on cult groups and armed robbery gangs, and assured residents of improved safety in the affected areas.

CP Fatai further called on members of the public to remain vigilant and to report suspicious activities to the Police through the emergency lines provided by the Command.
