Gov Willie Obiano Conferred With Chieftaincy Title As The Odoziobodo Anaocha

It was Robert Frost in one of his most celebrated poems “The Road not Taken” averred that his choice of travelling the road not usually taken by most people made all the difference in his life.

The novel approach of Gov Willie Obiano to governance clearly marks him the performer of all times. Through the prisms of Robert Frost, one could easily see that Obiano’s non-conformist view to governance stood him and Anambra state out in the comity of states in Nigeria.

When he emerged the Executive governor of Anambra state, Anambra was then a theatre of crimes and criminalities, he waded in with his multi-dimensional approach to Security in the state, and restored normalcy within three months of his headship of the state. Since then till now (fours years and counting), Anambra has remained the safest state in the whole of Nigeria as accented to by the service chiefs and the presidency.

Anambra, greatly endowed with rich alluvial soil for Agriculture lied waste until Gov Willie Obiano took office as Governor and through his magic wand, revolutionalized agriculture. Today, through partnerships and grants, the state is now self-sufficient in production of staple foods like Casava, Rice, Tomatoes, vegetables and the rest. Anambra through the efforts of Gov Willie Obiano is currently exporting vegetables, yams, Rice to other states of the federation and United Kingdom. Truly, Obiano is a transformer!

His love of delivering classic and critical infrastructures across the state is second to none as his giant footprints stamped within the four years, one month, two weeks and four days as the helmsman of Anambra is jaw-breaking. His administration had initiated and delivered world class infrastructures across the zones of the state. These include the longest bridge east of Niger measuring about 270m, and dotting stretches of asphalted roads across the state.

The community choose your project policy initiative of the Akpokuedike administration has delivered infrastructures to all the 182 communities (according to the community needs) and 65 major markets across the state.

The Operation Decongest the Roads cum Demolish Illegal Structures/shanties currently ongoing in the state is one feat too many. Past administrations in the state turned blind eyes to the impassable streets of Ajasa, Sokoto Road, Bright street Onitsha and other of such locations in the state. Now, these places are motorable and passable, thanks to the Odozibodo policy initiative. Gov Obiano is a transformer!

Anambra as one of the front line states that has an integrated development model adopted to simultaneously impact all the communities in the state engaged self with the Operation Light up Anambra. Through this project, over 600 kilometres of roads and streets have been lit and glittering at night which has greatly enhanced the aesthetic appeal and security of the state.

Although Anambra state under Odoziobodo Anaocha remains one of the few states in Nigeria, that is not owing workers’ salaries, it has ensured prompt payment of pensions and gratuities.

Stemming from the foregoing therefore, the good people of Anaocha LGA today held their Anaocha Day. The event which held at the auditorium’s of the Local Government Secretariat Neni, saw a lot of worthy Anaocha sons and good friends of the LGA awarded with deserving Chieftaincy tittles.

His Excellency, the Chief Hardworker of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano was conferred with the Chieftaincy tittle as ODOZIOBODO Aniocha, Sen Dr Victor Umeh was equally conferred as the Ugumba Anaocha and several other illustrious sons and daughters.

The chieftaincy tittle was received on behalf of Gov Willie Obiano by the best Deputy Governor in Nigeria, His Excellency Chief Dr Nkem Okeke (Ezue Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri) amidst fanfares and cheers from the general public.
