Fans coming to watch the Super Eagles play LaLiga giants, Atletico Madrid, for the GOtv MAX Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State have been assured of adequate security in and around the match venue.

The match, billed for Tuesday, 22 May is an international friendly tournament organized by MultiChoice Nigeria.

Martin Mabutho, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, MultiChoice Nigeria, explained that top-notch security arrangements have been put in place to ensure that fans are protected in and around the stadium.

“Our customers and fans alike have nothing to fear, as are working with government and private security officers to ensure safety for everyone who comes to the Godswill Akpabio stadium. As such, we are calling on football fans in Uyo and environs to come and watch the Super Eagles play Atletico Madrid in what promises to be a historic match,” he said.

Atletico Madrid, who won the Europa League last Wednesday and sit second in the LaLiga standings, are visiting Nigeria for the first time on the invitation of MultiChoice Nigeria.

The match will provide the Super Eagles another opportunity to fine tune the preparations for the World Cup, where they stand a good chance of meeting teams with similar qualities to Atletico Madrid.

The match will also air live on SuperSport Select 1 on DStv and GOtv at 6pm.
