Wole Olanipekun To Speak On 2019 Election At Judiciary Correspondents’ Annual Lecture
Legal luminary and former President of Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, will on June 6 speak on the role of the judiciary and the media in the 2019 Election at the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents, NAJUC, annual lecture.
NAJUC is the association of journalists from the print, broadcast and online media covering various courts across the country.
Olanipekun, who is unarguably one of the best minds in the legal profession, is expected to examine critical issues in the judiciary, media and how they would affect the 2019 election.
NAJUC 2018 Annual Lecture Committee Chairman, Mr. Henry Ojelu, in a statement noted that Olanipekun was chosen to deliver the 2018 lecture due to his wealth of experience on legal issues in Nigeria’s electoral system.
According to Ojelu, the lecture which will hold at Domus Fidei Hotel, Ikeja Lagos, will be hosted by Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Opeyemi Oke while Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Kazeem Adeniji is the special guest of honour.
The top judiciary correspondent also said the event will be used to launch the association’s quarterly publication ‘Justice’ while NAJUC Award of Excellence will also be given to deserving members of the public who have distinguish themselves in their chosen careers including Sylva Oguemoh, SAN; Mr. Kazeem Adeniji and renowned journalist and activist, Mr. Richard Akinnola.
Participants at the panel session of the lecture includes, NBA 2nd Vice President, Mr. Monday Ubani, Richard Akinnola and Executive Director, Access to Justice , Joseph Otteh.
The session will be moderated by presenter of TVC’s award-winning programme ‘Journalist Hangout’, Ayodele Ozumgbakun.
Other dignitaries expected at the event includes All Progressives Congress National Legal Adviser, Dr. Muiz Banire; Mr. Dele Adesina, SAN; Chief Niyi Akintola, SAN; Lagos INEC Resident Commissioner, Mr. Sam Olumekun and Ikeja NBA Chairman Adesina Ogunlana.
