A 45-year old married man, Mr. Ifeanyi Ademe, has been arrested for engaging his neighbour’s 11-year old daughter in a sex romp.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oremeji Street in Ipaja at Iba area of Lagos where they resided.

It was gathered that the suspect lured his neighbour’s daughter into his apartment at night at about 10pm when his wife was not around. He was said to have locked the door from inside, removed her pant and defiled her.
However, he was caught after his neighbour looked for their daughter and she was traced to Ademe’s room. They forced the door open and caught him red-handed.
It was then that their daughter revealed that Ademe had forced her into his apartment and had his way with her.

The matter was reported to the Gender Section of the Lagos Police Command; Ademe was arrested and taken to the Command.

Police sources said that Mr. Ademe admitted that he had carnal knowledge of her but he did not find it difficult penetrating her because she had been doing it before.

The police found him culpable and charged him before Ogba Magistrates court for defilement of the 11-year old girl.
He pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John did not oppose his bail condition but asked the court to use its discretion if the court wanted to grant him bail.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka denied Ademe bail and ordered that he be remanded in prison custody.
The court directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 27 June, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the DPP finds Ademe culpable, he faces trial and gets convicted, that he will have to spend up to 10 years in prison for the offence he committed.
