A Lagos based lawyer, Barrister Osuji Ebere Dominic, has been arrested and charged before a court in Lagos for his alleged involvement in the forgery of a dead man’s will over property.

The 52-year old Barrister Dominic was charged with two other suspects, Mr. Chidi Smart Ezirim, 44 and Kenneth Ohia, 39, for conspiracy and forgery.

The defendants landed in trouble after the deceased, one Late Sebastine Chukwuemeka Ezirim died over an undisclosed ailment and was buried. After the burial, Barrister Dominic was said to have brought a will he claimed the deceased had prepared before he died. P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the content of the will deprived Mrs. Theresa Ezirim every right to benefit from her husband’s properties in favour of the defendants.

When the will was read to the embattled wife and members of the family, she suspected that her husband could never have prepared such against her because she was his legal wife. She suspected foul play, went to the Police Public Complainant Bureau at the Police Command, reported the scam and requested that the matter should be investigated.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after investigation, the police discovered that the will was forged. The suspects were found culpable and arrested for the offence.
They were charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and forgery.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Peter Nwaogwu, did not oppose their bail condition.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Y.O. Aje-Afunwa granted them bail in the sum of N600,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 18th August, 2018, for further hearing.
