Police Warn Against Display of Political Banners During Eid-El-Kabir/Durbar Celebrations

The Kwara State Police Command in conjunction with Durbar Security Committee wishes to inform members of the public that the Durbar is  purely a traditional outing and should be treated as such; accordingly members of the public are warned not to use or display banners with political inscriptions or slogans during the events.

In a statement signed by DSP Okasanmi Ajayi, Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Police Command, the police maintained that Sallah celebration should be for all adherents of Islamic faith and their friends and should be celebrated joyfully irrespective of their political affiliations. Any breach will be treated accordingly.

Meanwhile, the Kwara Police Command wishes to assure members of the public of her readiness to provide adequate security of lives and property before, during and after the Sallah /Durbar celebrations, please.
