Femi Kuti’s Son, Made, Joins Positive Force Band

Made, the first son of Afrobeat king, Femi Kuti has officially joined his father’s Positive Force band.
The multiple Grammy nominated singer disclosed this on Wednesday as the band left for tour of some European countries.
“Omorinmade (my Son) now a proud member of my band and he’s leaving tonight with the Positive Force Band to Belgrade to perform with the Philamonic Orchestra and Paris,” Femi Kuti, the proud dad, wrote on his Instagram page.
It is certain music runs in the Kuti family. The family gained international prominence through the late legendary Afrobeat musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who is the grandfather to Made Kuti. Fela is reputed as the pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre worldwide.
Just like Femi who also joined his late father Fela’s band during his early years before going solo, Made’s addition to the band was something that has been expected for long. The 23-year old Made has already been jamming with the Positive Force Band prior to the Belgrade and Paris tour.
Expectedly, he will also be in the band during his dad’s exclusive and premium concert ‘A Night With Femi Kuti’ holding at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja on September 22. During the night, Afrobeat fans would be treated to an exclusive listening of One People One World, the Afrobeat legend’s seventh album.
Since the album was released earlier this year, Femi Kuti has been on tour of Europe and America but on the night, he would be on stage to perform the entire album.
